I think sometimes during meditation we think we fell asleep but in actuality, we were In such a good meditative state that we simply dropped beneath the conscious threshold and we mistake that for sleep
Yes, that can happen. Our whole lives we’ve been outer-directed through the senses. When we start to meditate, it’s like going into a dark room after being in the sun; it will take time to gain clarity in that subtle, inward state. If there is any doubt whether you are asleep, then you probably aren’t, because we know full well what sleep feels like; we do it every night. As you continue to meditate and gain clarity at the subtle levels of the mind, you won’t have that hazy experience. You will feel the bliss and peace clearly.
